It was to be the most beautiful creation of Schumann’s “chamber music years” when sonatas, quartets and instrumental music poured from the German’s pen.

He wrote the piano quintet for his beloved wife Clara, a gift from the heart, and love flows through the whole piano quintet which she, a famous pianist, soon brought with her on tour. Truls Mørk and musicians from the Symphony Orchestra will also play Fanny Hensel Mendelssohn’s beautiful piano trio and Kodály’s self-assured Duo for Violin and Cello.

Truls Mørk is Artist in Residence this season (2016-2017).
