Active in the Rescue Mission’s Community School

Prioritizing young people is investing in the future. The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra wants to contribute to social development for children and young people and in the long run be a good force in society. That is why we are involved in the Rescue Mission’s school to contribute music, knowledge and inspiration.

In the autumn of 2021, the doors will be opened to the Rescue Mission’s newly started Community School in Tynnered with us as a collaboration partner. The school focuses on the whole around the situation of students and families and has a strong collaboration with partners from the private, public and idea-driven sectors. The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra is one of the collaborating partners and together we have set our sights on forming an orchestra.

By making the concert hall and symphonic art music accessible, we hope to be able to engage young people as an audience as well as performers. The aim is to give young people opportunities to find and develop their own creative power through music.
