Classical Curiosities: Sibelius

Reflections on the emotional person and the colourful character Jean Sibelius, who moved between euphoria and despair but wrote orchestral music that thrills listeners to this very day. Sibelius’ secret was the unique ability to create and evoke moods that touch on a deep, personal level. Erik Risberg talks warmly about this in his lecture, which also touches on the friendship with the pianist Ferruccio Busoni, the love for his wife Aino and all the drama that took place in his life.

The lecture is in Swedish with English subtitle available.
