Elegy and Intermezzo from Lodolezzi sings

Add to calendar
He was a man of scandal, Hjalmar Bergman, the writer behind the comedy Lodolezzi sings.

One of Sweden’s foremost writers in the early 20th century, but also an alcoholic, morphine addict and with a bisexual orientation that was not approved of. He died of an overdose in Berlin in 1931. When Lodolezzi sings had its première at the Lorensberg Theatre in Gothenburg in 1919, Stenhammar wrote incidental music which he was very happy with. Three of the movements were published as a suite where a deeply felt elegy begins the first act.
