Kapustin: Concerto No. 5 for piano and orchestra
Together, Rouvali, the Gothenburg Symphony and Frank Dupree perform a rare piano concerto written by Ukrainian-born Nikolai Kapustin in 1993. A super pianist and composer, who was not afraid to mix sophisticated jazz with classical composition. Frank Dupree’s fresh interpretation has been hailed as ‘fantastic, noting that the performance perfectly captures “the drive and pure joy […] of this music.”
Recorded for GSOplay in Gothenburg Concert Hall in May 2025.
