Odin Ensemble: Suite from Der Rosenkavalier

Are you one of those who enjoy the opera Der Rosenkavalier by Richard Strauss? Now you can enjoy when the Odin Ensemble, in collaboration with the Gothenburg Symphony, gives an instrumental chamber version of this popular piece: “Suite from Der Rosenkavalier”. The arrangement was made by the British conductor and arranger George Morton and was performed for the first time two years ago by the Lapland Chamber Orchestra in Rouvaniemi. This intimate and sonorous recording with the Odin Ensemble was made in the Stenhammarssalen, Gothenburg Concert Hall, November 2022, with Alec Frank-Gemmill as conductor (currently horn player in the Gothenburg Symphony). Odin Ensemble plays the Rosenkavalier on instruments used at the time that the piece was written (from the early 20th century).

Welcome to listen to 20 minutes of intense and beautiful music!
