Jazz singer Lina Nyberg has burst genre borders over the last few years, and worked with composition for both symphony orchestras and string quartets. This concert will bring American and British music for string quartet and piano together with Lina’s own compositions that she’s created to get the space her unique voice requires.

Other composers are Vaughan Williams, Bernstein, Weill, Korngold, Gurney, Barber, Gershwin and Bolcom. Pianist Johan Graden also performs.

Singers Katija Dragojevic and Lina Nyberg have known each other their whole lives, and both their fathers came as boat refugees. This is one of the themes of the concert, as is friendship, belonging and love.

The project is a collaboration between the artists and Uppsala Konsert & Kongress/Musik i Uppland, and was realised with the support of Musikverket.
