Enjoy a tranquil lunch concert with beautiful song from the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra’s Vocal Ensemble.

The English choral tradition is one of the finest in the world – both in terms of composers and individual choirs who for hundreds of years have developed their own profiles. At this lunch concert, conductor Alexander Einarsson leads the Gothenburg Symphony’s Vocal Ensemble in music composed from the 1930s to our days. Traditional texts, 17th and 19th century poets, children’s rhymes and last but not least a “serenade to the music” from the Merchant of Venice by Shakespeare flies on magnificent musik.

An opportunity to experience both famous and lesser known English composers: Gerald Finzi, John Rutter, Benjamin Britten and Ralph Vaughan Williams. And the vocal ensemble’s pianist Mikael Kjellgren offers a passionate and ground-breaking piece: Alban Berg’s piano sonata from the early 1900s – eleven minutes of captivating music.

The previously announced program has been adjusted. More information about the decision to change/cancel/move events can be found here.
