Composer Daniel Bjarnason has cited the fact that  temperature shifts and UV radiation on the moon have turned the American flags planted on the moon in 1969 by Apollo 11 completely white, as his source of inspiration for the opening of this concert.

Next, we are transported to Buenos Aires. Tango master Piazzolla – an excellent match for both the moon and the sun – accompanies us through memories and different seasons. As the concert draws to an end, we come face to face with the moon and the lovers of Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht, which transforms fear into light and warmth.

The concert is exclusive for CAES – Cobham Gaisler, one of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra’s main sponsors.
