Duduk is a traditional wind instrument made from apricot trees. And the ensemble Norayr Kartashyan & Menua brings winter-weary souls to life with duduks and other exciting wind instruments.

Menua is the name of the ensemble, composed and led by Norayr Kartashyan, who is also an instrument maker. Traditional Armenian woodwind instruments including new manufactured hybrids are included in the repertoire.

Duduk, blul, shvi, parkapzuk and zurna are the Armenian names for the woodwinds. With expressive arrangements interpretations of the country’s country music are made. Compositions that gently bloom, full of timeless beauty and warmth.
