It was indeed a stroke of genius when Rachmaninov took a theme of Paganini’s, and wrote his stunning Piano Variations! One virtuoso paying tribute to another, while simultaneously creating something daring and poetic for the future.

That is where Ilpha Kozhabekova from Kazakhstan finds herself, passing on Rachmaninov’s musical legacy to modern audiences. In the Paganini Variations, there is an abundance of emotions and Tchaikovsky adds another dimension in his Fourth Symphony. In every sense an evening for true romantics.
