Music can lift your gaze and make everything feel okay, <span class=\"TextRun SCXW228577904 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"none\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW228577904 BCX0\">somehow<\/span><\/span>. Just like when you look at the stars. It\u2019s allowed to zoom out and feel, without having to do anything yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Many in the audience are fond of Gustav Mahler, even though he\u2019s not the most accessible. He really delves deep into the human condition. In Symphony No. 4, which we will be playing, Mahler truly pushes the boundaries by making the concertmaster pitch their violin differently.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gso.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/sasong-2025-2026-gso-violin-2526-sara03164-foto-nadim-elazzeh-1920x1254-1.jpg\" alt=\"En violin p\u00e5 en r\u00f6d matta med st\u00e4mningsfullt ljus.\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1254\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I pitch the violin up a whole tone. So, I have to bring an extra violin that&#8217;s already prepared. It creates a tension in the instrument and almost a ghostly sound. Playing that way is a real challenge. The music is written as normal, but it sounds &#8220;wrong&#8221;.
