For the Concert Hall\u2019s interior, he hired the highly respected interior architect Axel Larsson, who was born 1898 in Torp, Medelpad, in central Sweden.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gso.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/skisser-soffa-goteborgs-konserthus.jpg\" alt=\"Handritad designskiss av sittgrupp.\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1254\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Axel Larsson\u00a0(1898-1975) received his education at the Technical School in Stockholm and deepened his knowledge through study trips to France, Germany and England. At a young age, he worked for a time at his brother-in-law\u2019s carpentry factory in \u00d6stersund and was also employed for a while as a drawing assistant to the furniture designer Carl Malmsten.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gso.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/skisser-gotaplatsfoajen-goteborgs-konserthus-1.jpg\" alt=\"Handritad designskiss av sittgrupp.\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1254\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Most of the furniture in the Gothenburg Concert Hall is designed by Axel Larsson. Armchairs, chairs, couches and tables. Stylish and timeless furniture that has lasted since they were created in 1935. In a report from the same year, they were described as \u201cobjective but fortunately no machines to sit in. They are lovable, artistically well-made and natural\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gso.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/skisser-bank-goteborgs-konserthus-1.jpg\" alt=\"Handritad designskiss av b\u00e4nk.\" width=\"1920\" height=\"1254\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nils Einar Eriksson\u2019s collaboration with Axel Larsson lasted for many years. For example, in 1950 Axel Larsson designed furniture and furnishings for Hotel Park Avenue. They also collaborated on the Swedish American Line\u2019s M\/S Kungsholm and on Folksamhuset in Stockholm, their last joint work in 1960.
