The five glass reliefs (engravings) from 1935 were created at Orrefors glassworks by Simon Gate (1883-1945) and the engraver Bertil Gustafsson.<\/p>\n<h3>Simon Gate\u00a0(1883-1945)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Designer, sculptor, visual artist. Education: Technical School, Stockholm, Stockholm Academy of the Arts, Stockholm. G. worked as a portrait painter and illustrator before he started at Orrefors glassworks in 1916 as its artistic director. Together with Edward Hald, Gate became one of the innovators of modern Swedish glass art. He became famous for his well-composed glass engravings with ornaments and naked figures.
