The Götaplats Foyer’s large panoramic windows and balcony offer magnificent views across Götaplatsen and Avenyn. Here, the Concert Hall’s timeless architecture and art meet the life of the city outside – right in the heart of Gothenburg.
Most of the time, this is where audiences gather before a concert and during the interval, but sometimes the foyer becomes a stage in its own right. Music comes close in this open and lively setting, with the city as a backdrop and plenty of space for both music and people to come together.
The foyer hosts a wide variety of musical experiences – from soft saturday classical concerts and music sessions for babies to Classical AW and Culture Night. Sometimes there is coffee and a bite to eat, sometimes drinks and a lively evening atmosphere, but music and shared experiences are always at the heart of it. An unconventional concert venue where the views, the space and the music come together to create an atmosphere all of its own.

The Gothenburg Concert Hall
Architect Nils Einar Eriksson’s stylish functionalism from 1935, the beautiful, natural materials, the acoustics of the halls, and the food in the restaurant make a visit to the Gothenburg Concert Hall an experience for all your senses.
Beautiful rooms for beautiful experiences
The concerts are played in the Great Hall, a magnificent room world-famous for its fine acoustics, and the more intimate Stenhammar Hall, decorated with beautiful intarsia. Sometimes the Götaplats foyer and the Cloakroom also turn into venues.
