Arild Andersen is one of Norway’s all-time leading jazz bassists. Together with three handpicked favorite musicians, this legend offers “everything”. Fine print melodies are interspersed with atonal runs, quiet duets with collective movements. Arild Andersen Group is the quartet that is constantly breaking new ground.
Arild Andersen has been central to the Norwegian and international jazz scene for more than 50 years. He has collaborated with names such as Jan Garbarek, Chick Corea and Sonny Rollins and released more than 20 records under his own name on German ECM. Here he makes common cause with three star musicians of the younger generation.
Saxophonist Marius Neset, pianist Helge Lien and drummer Håkon Mjåset Johansen are all musicians with their own brilliant careers. As the Arild Andersen Group, they are constantly paving new paths through known and unknown terrain.
