The Gothenburg Symphony Vocal Ensemble makes a live comeback in Christinae Church with a bundle of songs that reflect nature, love and eroticism.

“It drips from the fog, like tears” the ensemble sings sadly, but in other places love – and the accompanying longing – is depicted, as is nature’s wider range of flowers that can be just as beautiful and poisonous as man. What happens when Lady Barnard is unfaithful to Little Musgrave shall not be revealed here – the suspense will be resolved at the concert.

Programme

Brahms: Vier Gesänge Op 17
Britten: The ballad of Little Musgrave & Lady Barnard
Brahms: Intermezzo Op 116 nr 2
Britten: Five flower songs
