Come and enjoy the full sound of the symphony orchestra at two pop-up concerts at Frölunda Torg! This afternoon, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra will treat you to sparkling melodies – and everyone is welcome. The music by Felix Mendelssohn is joyful and radiant, carrying the essence of an Italian summer.
At just 22 years old, Mendelssohn was on tour when he composed the symphony, writing to his sister Fanny: “This is Italy! What I have looked forward to all my life as the greatest joy has now begun, and I am basking in it!”
We will also hear music from the brass section of the orchestra.
