Artist Sofia Karlsson is touring with the show *Selma och jag* (“Selma and I”), a musical tribute to the literary work of Selma Lagerlöf. The concert, which has been warmly received and first premiered at Mårbacka, also features supporting artist Naomi Wiehe.
Information from Programbolaget:
It has been 20 years since Sofia Karlsson made her breakthrough with her iconic interpretations of Dan Andersson’s work on the album *Svarta Ballader*. Since then, she has captivated audiences by placing storytelling and her own personal presence at the heart of her performances. With four Swedish Grammis awards, two Danish Grammis awards, and a host of other prestigious honors to her name, she continues to explore new musical paths.
Now, she invites the audience into the imaginative world of Selma Lagerlöf with her show *Selma och jag* (“Selma and I”). The performance draws inspiration from her acclaimed album *En sång till Selma* (“A Song for Selma”)—a personal tribute to Lagerlöf’s life, literary body of work, courage, and progressive mindset.
“I love Selma’s imaginative language, and her writing explores an endless array of themes. The themes that have resonated most with me are passion, life, death, and sisterhood,” says Sofia Karlsson in an interview.
Support: Naomi Wiehe
