Kompis Sverige (Friends Sweden) is a non-profit association that creates meetings between new and established Swedes. The vision is a society where everyone participates on equal terms and feels trust in each other. Through its activities, Kompis Sverige provides people with an opportunity to expand their social network, and new Swedes have an opportunity to receive functional language training in everyday life.

Through Kulturkompis (Cultural Buddy), people who are new to Sweden and those who have lived here for a long time, perhaps all their lives, are given a chance to share cultural experiences, such as going to the cinema or theatre or attending concerts together. Kulturkompis is part of the study association Bilda’s assignment to contribute to meaningful activities that enhance people’s knowledge of the Swedish language and Swedish society and promote participation in community life.
