Visit from the international chamber orchestra formed in connection with Aurora Music’s festivals in Västra Götaland. A celebration for everyone who can’t get enough of strings.

Aurora Chamber Orchestra is, at this concert, accompanied by the lauded Swedish cellist Jakob Koranyi, one of Europe’s most interesting young soloists. He plays one of the greatest finds in musical history: Haydn’s Cello Concerto No 1 in C Major, which after 200 years’ rest was discovered in a dusty archive in Prague in 1961. Joie de vivre, melancholy, fantasy – it gathers all of Haydn’s very finest qualities.

Aurora Chamber Orchestra with artistic director Gordan Nikolic, former leader of the London Symphony Orchestra, also performs Britten’s charming Simple Symphony with its amusing movements – Boisterous Bourrée, Playful Pizzicato, Sentimental Saraband and Frolicsome Finale, as well as Dvorák’s wonderful Serenade for Strings.
