Hear luminous Bosnian folk music when Bosnian star Damir Imamović performs at Gothenburg Concert Hall. He is renowned for his intimate interpretations of traditional sevdah folk music, and his latest album holds an entire novel.

The World and All That It Holds is the title of the latest album from singer, lute player and songwriter Damir Imamović. It is also the title of a historical fiction novel set in his native Sarajevo. The novel includes the love story of a couple who sing songs for one another in Ladino and Bosnian. The album alternates traditional pieces with newly composed sevdah – Bosnian folk music that is reminiscent of jazz and blues.

His powerful and melancholic voice is accompanied by the vivid sounds of violin and lute, as well as gentle double bass and percussion. This intimate music is infused with longing and yearning.

In 2021, Damir Imamović was titled Best of Europe at the Songlines Music Awards for his album Singer of Tales.
