This Gageego! concert is about what happens in the space between musicians, musician/instrument, and musician/audience in music by multi-award-winning composer Rebecca Saunders, amongst others. Prolific composer Rebecca Saunders is centre stage during this concert, which explores the magical physicality of sounds. Music breaks down borders, requiring intense communication.

‘What’s important to me is to make it possible for the listener to experience the magical physicality of the sound, the sound’s tone, colour, mass, weight. That’s what I feel I work with, almost like a sculptor working with different materials,’ says composer Rebecca Saunders, who sometimes lets the instruments reflect and mix with each other. The interaction is the whole point.
