Arranger Vince Mendoza is certainly not just anyone. The versatile composer and conductor has collaborated with artists such as Joni Mitchell, Sting, Elvis Costello, Joe Zawinul, Björk and many more. Over the years, he has won no less than six Grammy Awards. He last visited Gothenburg’s Concert Hall in 2022 with the Nordic Jazz concert.
Bohuslän Big Band is one of Sweden’s most prominent big bands who have also had a series of successful collaborations with international jazz giants: Gregory Porter, Carla Bley, Joe Lovano, Nils Landgren – and not least Vince Mendoza. Now they meet the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in a thrillingly unique fusion together woth saxophonist Joe Lovano.

You will get the stories behind the music, knowledge of the composers and own reflections about the classical pieces.
