Anders Hillborg’s second Violin Concerto from 2016 contains a mysterious sound, resembling the sound of birds. The charismatic Norwegian violin soloist Eldbjørg Hemsing, who has made a recording of the concerto, makes her debut here with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
In Ludwig van Beethoven’s lush Pastoral Symphony, we travel along safe paths once again. Beethoven was in an unusually light-hearted mood and wrote artful descriptions of each movement. We experience the thunderstorms, streams and birds, and finally the calm after the storm.
Conductor Dinis Sousa was born in Portugal and lives in London. He leads ensembles such as the Royal Northern Sinfonia and is associate conductor of the Monteverdi Choir and Orchestras.

Conductor Marta Gardolińska presents a rare French gem: Mel Bonis’ orchestral tribute to three legendary women. In addition, we hear Dvorák’s beloved Cello Concerto, with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra’s Claes Gunnarsson as soloist.
