One of Sweden’s most popular musicians and producers. Johan Lindström is nominated for the Nordic Council’s music prize in 2023 and is described in the motivation as a “musical magician”. Known for the multi-award-winning Tonbruket – as well as collaborations with Rebecka Törnqvist, Elvis Costello and Nils Petter Molvaer. This evening, Johan Lindström leads his own star-studded septet.

This hand-picked constellation received the P2 Jazzkatten award for Group of the Year in 2019 and has released two acclaimed and cross-border albums, ”Music for Empty Halls” and ”On the Asylum”. All clear signs of Johan Lindström’s range as a guitarist, composer and band leader, with the ability to bring the best out of every musician.

Although, with this star-studded group, it’s more a case of showing the way rather than leading. Here we see giants such as Jonas Kullhammar, Per Texas Johansson and Mats Äleklint given freedom to break new ground and take the music to the next level.
