Welcome Sweden’s most dazzling folk music ensemble! The concert hall is filled with sizzling rhythms and surprises as ten-member band Spöket i köket take over with humour and heart.
Spöket i köket are probably Sweden’s most dazzling and unconventional folk music big band – a ten-member collective with 20 instruments and singing in at least four languages. Stenhammarsalen will be sizzling with rhythm, colours and surprises!
The big band’s career goes all the way back to the mid-2010s. Spöket i köket have released several albums that explore and push the limits of folk music. Past albums include Den Nya Spisen (2017) and Kurbits & Flames (2022). They were nominated for Folk Music of the Year at the 2023 Grammis Awards.
Their latest album, Grannlåt, delivers a menu of songs that are as lovingly arranged as they are rhythmically swinging. This is music that inspires both careful listening and full-on dancing. Always with tasteful humour, heart and an infectious sense of musical joy.
And all of this is presented in their own genre concoction, which they call lounge-rave-folk. Who could resist such a celebration of flavours?
Here you will find all the necessary information that you need to know about before your magical visit in the Concert Hall.

Many of the works of art in Gothenburg Concert Hall are connected to music or have a relationship with Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Here you will find everything from portraits of composers such as Grieg and Sibelius to one of Sweden's largest tapestries, with design by Sven X-et Erixson.
