Louisa Lyne from Härnösand is Sweden’s Yiddish Queen, with four albums to her name. Traditional klezmer meets modern pop, Latin and electronic beats as Lyne sings with the band di Yiddishe Kapelye.

Since their debut album in 2012, Louisa Lyne & di Yiddishe Kapelye have captivated audiences world-wide with their emotional and atmospheric music. The group has garnered enormous success with the warmth of their live performances, and their music has received glowing reviews in Sweden and abroad.

Trees are celebrated in Jewish tradition in February; it is a time to be immersed in nature, to reconnect with one’s roots. Louisa Lyne has joyfully studied language and Jewish musical heritage, developing an exciting artistic style. Her sound is innovative and cool, without losing the essence of the tradition.

This powerful style earned Louisa Lyne first place in the Der Yiddisher Idol competition in Mexico. Together with her orchestra, she has also become familiar in Sweden via Folkets Musik (“Music of the People”) on SVT, with an acclaimed version of The Ark’s hit It Takes A Fool To Remain Sane in Yiddish.
