The November darkness may be thick, but we get to enjoy a dazzling opera gala with none other than world-renowned tenor Jonas Kaufmann. This unique and generous evening includes a series of well-known arias and favourites from French and Italian opera – and of course, Puccini’s beloved Nessun dorma from Turandot.
Born in Munich, Jonas Kaufmann is one of the most esteemed tenors of our time, with dramatic spirit and technical excellence. He has performed over 70 roles in major opera houses around the world: Don José in Carmen, Caravadossi in Tosca, Othello, Don Carlos, Werther …
Now he performs for the first time with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, presenting a lavish, luxurious experience of the most beautiful arias from opera history.
Conductor Jochen Rieder has worked and toured with fellow countryman Kaufmann and now leads the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. This ensures that the stage is set for an absolutely magical evening of opera at the Gothenburg Concert Hall.
We are able to hear Jonas Kaufmann in this concert thanks to the generous support of the Sten A. Olsson Foundation.
