The international music camp Side by Side by El Sistema ends its anniversary Tuesday with a spectacular concert with extra everything. There will be a string orchestra, wind orchestra and symphony orchestra – all at the same time!
Welcome to a truly intense musical experience! WIND & STRING ORCHESTRA is a string orchestra, a wind orchestra, and a symphony orchestra, all in one! Here you can enjoy classical pieces from Dvorak and Sibelius as well as the Argentinian Ginastera. In addition, there will be modern film music with Captain Marvel leading the charge. Wind orchestra and symphony orchestra are conducted by the Gothenburg Symphony’s own Marjolein Vermeeren and the string orchestra is led by Terje Skomedal.
The international music camp Side by Side is organized by the Gothenburg Symphony and is one of Gothenburg’s jubilee projects. In 2023, the camp celebrates its 10th anniversary while also being an important part of the city’s 400th anniversary celebrations.
At Side by Side, young people from around the world gather to sing and play orchestral music together, side by side with professional musicians. The camp promotes classical music while counteracting segregation in all its forms and building bridges between people, cultures, and continents.
