Experience a broad spectrum of organ music, from magnificent and mighty to lyrical and heartfelt. Versatile organist Johannes Landgren is joined by a trio on vocals, sax and percussion.
The entire palette of the organ is exposed in this programme in a kaleidoscope of sounds: Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, jazz music by Duke Ellington for alto sax and organ, romantic organ music by Otto Olsson and exciting improvisations.
We also hear the delightful sound of soprano Helena Ek, and dramatic music for percussion with Daniel Berg. In addition, we hear songs by composer Karin Rehnqvist, whose rich oeuvre captures life’s essential challenges and values – always with a humanistic and ethical pathos.
In conclusion, we hear Czech modernist Petr Eben, who combines percussion with the full power of the organ in his Landscapes of Patmos.
We also hear Håkan Lewin on alto sax.
