A New Tone – A New Thought. At the Concert Hall’s Culture Evenings we take a firm grip on Gothenburg’s cultural life. With fascinating guests and challenging ideas, we look beyond boundaries. Come and be part of it. The conversation (in Swedish) is led by Johan Hilton, author and Culture Editor at Göteborgs-Posten, and is being recorded for publication as a podcast.
The theme of the premiere evening is confessional culture – or when a gut punch becomes art.
It hurts to live when losses come thick and fast – of relationships, of belonging, even of the self. Is confessional art a way to endure hardship? And what happens afterwards?
Listen as our panel discusses creative projects as a means of emerging from trauma. What kind of art helps us survive life? How universal is a private experience – and how can an audience connect with what is portrayed?
Featuring Charlotta Björck, TV and radio personality, comedian and actor in series such as Sanningen, Tunna blå linjen and Charlotta x 8, known for her breathtaking characters on stage and Instagram. Also joining is author Kristina Sandberg, acclaimed for the Maj trilogy and for the book En ensam plats, her account of living with breast cancer.
As musical tribute, we hear Petra Lundin, cellist in Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra.
Together, we’ll explore whether it is easier to come together in crisis and chaos than in joy and harmony.
Culture Evenings are presented by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with Göteborgs-Posten and will be published as a podcast.
