About the concert
The concert is part of the series The Forbidden Melodies, presented with support from the Postcode Lottery Foundation in collaboration with Dera Studio and Evolving Traditions.
Afghanistan is currently the only country in the world where music is banned. In this performance, Afghan music is given new life through a stage production where melodies that can no longer be played in their country of origin meet new musical expressions and arrangements.
