The White Book
In this unique world premiere, we hear Laura Bowler’s composition inspired by The White Book by Nobel Prize-winner Han Kang. The work was commissioned by Principal Guest Conductor Barbara Hannigan, who also sings at this performance. With the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and choir.

With soft melodies and technical challenges, this Violin Concerto by Max Bruch is beloved, and it is performed tonight by Nikolaj Znaider. We also hear Elgar’s infinitely beautiful Enigma Variations with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in all its splendour.

Warm winds and young love are on the programme as the Göteborg Opera Orchestra and choir takes the stage. Listen to Rome’s majestic fountains and enjoy the fateful drama La Gioconda with emerging Swedish star Åsa Jäger in the leading role. Vincenzo Milletarì conducts.

Mozart’s popular Piano Concerto, led by Marie Jacquot with Markus Schirmer at the piano. After the interval, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra also presents Bruckner’s Symphony No.6, which contains an entire lifetime of emotions.
