There is a weightlessness and swing in Grieg’s music that makes it go straight in. The hit songs from 150 jubilar Peer Gynt are many: Anitra’s dance, Morning Mood, Solveig’s song, In the Hall of the Mountain King. But you rarely get the chance to hear them all in context.
Conductor Andreas Hanson and VÄGUS take you out on adventure with the rebel Peer Gynt. As narrator we hear actor Mattias Nordkvist, well known from TV series Vår tid är nu och Genombrottet (The Breakthrough, 2025). The text is adapted for VÄGUS by Mirja Burlin.
Famous pieces or magnificent symphonies – in the hands of VÄGUS everything is performed with the unmistakable desire and energy that has become their special hallmark. The orchestra consists of around 80 young musicians from all over Västra Götaland aged 14-23, and for many, VÄGUS becomes a memory for life.
