Sketch that Sven X-et Erixson (1899-1970) sent in to a competition for the decoration of the Concert Hall in 1935. This sketch won, hangs outside Stenhammarsalen, and became the model for the weave of the same name.

This sketch won and became the model for the weave of the same name, made in tapestry technique that can now be seen in Götaplatsen foyer, Melodier vid torget.

Sven X-et Erixson (1899-1970)

Painter and sculptor. The X’s images have their roots in a naive and narrative tradition. In his colorful depictions of the city and his work, he made himself known in the 1930s. Many of his lithographs were widely distributed through Konstfrämjandet’s publishing during the 1940s and onwards.

Education: Stockholm School of Technology, Stockholm Academy of the Arts. Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts 1943-53. Public works: Chapel of the Holy Cross, Skogskyrkogården Stockholm, Uppsala City Theater, Huddinge City Hall, etc. Represented: Nationalmuseum, Moderna Museet, Waldemarsudde, Göteborgs konstmuseum, Statens Museum för Konst in Copenhagen, Nasjonalgalleriet Oslo, and more.
