As a highly versatile team of singers, Gothenburg Symphony Vocal Ensemble presents concert programmes that explore wide-ranging repertoire from medieval to present-day commissions, performing both a cappella and alongside musicians from the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Previous collaborations have also included Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra and Gothenburg Symphony Baroque Academy. GSVE is committed to engaging with audiences both ‘at home’ in Gothenburg’s Concert Hall as well as giving performances in the wider region of Västra Götaland.

In this unique world premiere, we hear Laura Bowler’s composition inspired by The White Book by Nobel Prize-winner Han Kang. The work was commissioned for Principal Guest Conductor Barbara Hannigan, who also sings at this performance. With the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and choir.
