Passacaglia
Add to calendarOne of them was the passacaglia, a Spanish street dance so popular it was embraced by the courts of Europe. The name comes from passacale, “walk”, and to perform Halvorsen’s dazzling version of Handel’s Passacaglia in the Gothenburg Concert Hall’s promenade is a perfect idea. Here performed with delicacy and energy by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster Sara Trobäck and the orchestra’s solo cellist Claes Gunnarsson.
