Side by Side 2026: Closing Concert
Welcome to the live broadcast of a soaring symphonic celebration where the future virtuosos from the international music camp Side by Side meet Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra in a double symphony orchestra. This concert concludes the orchestra’s spring season and is the finale of a camp week filled with music, community, and inspiration, where tomorrow’s talents perform side by side with Sweden’s national orchestra.
The evening features, among other things, the grand Procession of the Nobles from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Mlada Suite, setting a festive tone for the concert. There will also be film magic when John Williams’ iconic Flying Theme from E.T. takes the audience on a soaring journey among the stars.
Closing Concert is more than just a concert – it is a musical meeting place where future and tradition unite, where young musicians get to shine in the spotlight, and where the audience is treated to both classical masterpieces and innovative music in a grand symphonic setting.
The international music camp Side by Side is organized by Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and open to participants 6-23 years old. Side by Side creates meeting places where children and young people from different cultures and backgrounds can sing and play together, side by side with professional musicians. The camp promotes classical music and works for tolerance, cooperation, and equality.
