At the end of april, the concert Boundless Sounds will be played at the Gothenburg Concert Hall, with music from Japan, India and Sweden. Prepare for the concert with a seminar at Folkmusikkaféet, with Indian tabla player Suranjana Ghosh, who participates in the concert.

Suranjana is one of few professional female tabla players in the world. She is a masterful musician, educated in Kolkata in the North Indian classical music. With a razor sharp precision, often with a breakthrough tempo, she presents characteristic rhythmic patterns from North Indian music both on tabla, a tonal drum, and vocal, so-called mouth percussion.

At the seminar Suranjana will tell about her instrument and the collaboration with the musicians Anders Hagberg and Karin Nakagawa – a fascinating mix between Nordic jazz, Japanese music and Indian classical music.

The seminar is in English and is translated into Swedish. Free entry!
