One of the greatest composers of the keyboard, Debussy, is included in this recital, but also the music that was written before the modern concert grand even existed.

To interpret baroque composer Rameau side by side with Debussy and Lili Boulanger, from a century later, is a challenge we look forward to with a particular joy, as Vikingur Ólafsson is the performer. His interpretations of Bach (released by Deutsche Grammophon in 2018) led to favourable comparisons with legendary Glenn Gould by reviewers. Music played at this concert will also be included on the DG release Pour le piano.

Topped by Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, this concert is sure to feature the whole register of the remarkable pianist, from soft pianissimo to volcanic eruptions.
