The Fall Break Choir

Every year during the autumn school break, young singers from western Sweden get together in Gothenburg Concert Hall. The course is designed to help you develop your technical and stage skills under the guidance of professional singers and teachers. The rehersals aim on the weeks final concert in the concert hall.

VÄGUS

Famous pieces or magnificent symphonies – whatever the music, it is always performed with the unmistakable, special passion and energy that characterises VÄGUS, Västra Götaland’s Youth Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra is led by Andreas Hanson and plays both in Gothenburg Concert Hall and on tour.

The Sports Holiday Orchestra

Every year in February, young orchestra musicians aged 12-19 gather in the Concert Hall for a rewarding musical experience. During the rehearsals, the participants are coached by musicians from the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra as they become acquainted with the classical symphonic repertoire and develop their skills together. The rehearsals end up in a final concert in the concert hall.

The music camp Side by Side

Each year in mid-June, children and young people from around the world gather in Gothenburg to play, sing and develop their skills and talents together during the largest music camp in the world. Being part of Side by Side helps you develop as a musician and singer, and you are guaranteed to make lots of new friends from all over the world!

Play and sing with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra

Do you dream of playing in an orchestra, singing in a choir, or developing as a young musician? The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra offers a range of activities for children and young people of different ages, whether you play an instrument or love to sing.

At Gothenburg Concert Hall, you’ll have the opportunity to make music with others, learn from professional musicians, conductors, and music educators, and develop your musical skills in a unique setting. Our programmes give you the chance to explore the symphonic repertoire, grow as a musician, and experience the joy of making music together.

  • Sports Holiday Orchestra, for young musicians who want to play in a symphony orchestra during the winter school break.
  • Side by Side, one of the world’s largest music camps for children and young people, where participants from around the world come together to play in orchestras and sing in choirs.
  • Fall Break Choir, for young singers who want to develop their choral singing with professional choir leaders.
  • Open Choir, a choir for young people with disabilities who want to sing in a safe and inspiring environment.
  • Västra Götaland Youth Symphony Orchestra (VÄGUS), for young musicians who are ready to take the next step in their orchestral playing.
