Frequently asked questions

Rarely has music felt so significant and our mission so valuable and rarely has the longing to meet around a shared experience been so big. This year we’ve been searching for answers and trying to understand a reality that has always seemed to escape. The uncertainty is still big and we get many questions about the current situation. Here we’ve collected some of the most frequent questions.

When will you open again?

Following the Västra Götaland region’s latest decision regarding events with seated audiences, we will be able to open the Concert Hall for 50 people in the audience starting on 17 November. We are now working on the program details so that the experience will be the best and the concert visit safe.

Because the number of spectators is so strongly limited, we unfortunately do not have the opportunity to offer you subscribers a place on the chairs you bought, therefore the autumn subscription will be redeemed. When the 50 tickets are released for sale, you will of course be offered online priority via your web profile starting on November 6 at 11.00 (regular ticket release November 7 at 11.00). The ticket release applies to all concerts throughout the year. Stay up to date on this and keep track of ticket releases by subscribing to our newsletter.

Will I get my money back if a concert is canceled?

Yes, the money is refunded by our ticket office. When a concert is cancelled, you will receive an email confirming that it has been cancelled and that your money will be refunded to the same card you used at the time of purchase. Subscribers: Refunds will be made automatically as soon as we know how the autumn season will be affected, but no later than 15 January 2021.

Will there be a refund before the concert date?

We try to make the refunds as soon as we can, but can not guarantee that you will receive the money before the concert date. If you have paid with a card on the website, the refund will be made to the same card you used at the time of purchase. Please note that sometimes it can take a while from the time we make the repurchase until the money is available on your bank account. We apologize for this, but it is beyond our control.

If you have paid for your subscription by bank transfer, the refund will be made in form of a gift card. You can use your gift card as a payment at the Concert Hall and at gso.se. It is also possible to redeem it for money – this must, however, be done at the ticket office during regular opening hours. Refunds will be made automatically as soon as we know how the autumn season will be affected, but no later than 15 January 2021.

How do I know the money has been refunded?

I have a ticket to a canceled concert, but have not received any information. What should I do?

All customers with tickets to a cancelled concerts will be contacted to the email address provided when purchasing the ticket. If you do not find the email, it may be a good idea to check the email in your spam. You are also welcome to contact the ticket office on telephone 031-726 53 00 or via email biljett@gso.se.

How do I know if a concert is canceled?

We update the concert calendar continuously and contact all customers via e-mail. If you are unsure of what applies to your upcoming concert, you are welcome to contact the ticket office. You can contact them via 031-726 53 00 or biljett@gso.se.

What if one or more concerts in my subscription are canceled?

You will be refunded the part of the subscription amount that pertains to the canceled concert or concerts. If you have paid with a card on the website, the refund will be made to the same card you used at the time of purchase. If, on the other hand, you have paid for your subscription by bank transfer, the refund will be made in the form of a gift card. You can use your gift card as a means of payment in the Concert Hall and at gso.se. It is also possible to redeem back for money – however, this must be done on site at the ticket office during regular opening hours. The gift card is sent to the e-mail address you provided when purchasing a subscription. Because of the uncertainty of how the autumn 2020 will look like, , the refunds will be paid out at the end of the year.

What applies if I cancel myself?

For subscriptions season 2020-2021, temporary purchase terms apply, which means that you can cancel your subscription until the week before the first concert in the subscription and get the entire amount refunded. You can also choose to exchange individual tickets in your subscription at no extra cost within the 2020-2021 season.

I have a gift card that will expire soon and that I have not been able to use as planned. What applies?

Due to the current situation, gift cards with an expiration date in 2020 will be extended until the situation has returned to normal. You are welcome to contact the ticket office to extend the validity of your gift card. You can reach them via 031-726 53 00 or biljett@gso.se.

Why are events affected differently?

At the Gothenburg Concert Hall, we have both events arranged by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and events where we rent out our facilities to external actors. The external actors’ events are beyond our control and the decisions about an event being canceled or moved forward are being decided by the external actors. The same applies with refunds.
