Information from the organizer:

Martin Kohlstedt, one of Europe’s most innovative composers and pianists in contemporary instrumental music and electronic soundscapes, returns to Sweden this fall for two concerts. On Friday, October 31, he will play in Stenhammarsalen.
Martin Kohlstedt is a German composer and producer who, before his solo career, trained as a jazz pianist at Bauhaus University in the small town of Weimar. Kohlstedt is known for mixing his classical style with modular composition and has received great attention for his concerts. Each performance is unique, where the works are allowed to develop and change depending on the context, space and the energy of the audience.
His working method is called modular composition, where pieces are not locked into fixed forms but are in constant movement, both in the studio and live. Improvisation is a fundamental part of his creation, as is the desire to challenge the framework of traditional concert forms.
Kohlstedt has collaborated with artists such as Douglas Dare, Sudan Archives and Henrik Schwarz, as well as with established institutions such as the Leipzig Gewandhaus Choir. In addition to his own albums, he writes music for film, theatre, podcasts and audiobooks.
His previous albums “Tag”, “Nacht”, “Strom”, “Ströme”, “Flur” and his latest work “Feld” have been internationally acclaimed and have taken him on tours all over the world. The audience is invited to a musical experience.
