Award-winning jazz pianist Rachel Z has a style that is multifaceted and accessible in equal measure, marrying folk and world music with jazz and rock. She is joined by drummer Omar Hakim and bassist Jonathan Toscano. As a trio, they continuously push the limits of music.

The American pianist was previously a member of Steps Ahead, and worked with stars such as Wayne Shorter, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Terri Lyne Carrington and guitarist Al Di Meola. She also spent many years as a member of Peter Gabriel’s touring band. They were all drawn to Rachel Z’s powerfully innovative sound.
Rachel Z has 13 albums to her name, the most recent of which is called Sensual. She is joined here by Omar Hakim and Jonathan Toscano. A deeper meaning lies beneath the clearly swinging sound. This solid, moving music is a tribute to the phases of life. It shakes the body and heals the soul.
