Organ inauguration: Music from four countries

Imaginative sounds when the Concert Hall's new organ takes place in the Great Hall in every conceivable way.

French organ romance at its best and input from Nielsen, Mendelssohn and Liszt – Les préludes in an exciting version for organ.

A program that shows what the Concert Hall’s new organ can achieve in music and styles with different traditions. We also get to hear imaginative sounds no one has heard before in a premiere specially composed for the organ inauguration.

The new Concert Hall Organ

Finally, the audience will experience powerful organ sounds in Gothenburg Concert Hall again! This is thanks to a collaboration between the real estate company Higab, the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Gothenburg International Organ Academy. The organ was built by Rieger Orgelbau in Austria and the installation in the Great Hall has been going on since the summer of 2019. Read more here.

Konserthusorgeln syns mellan lammellerna längst fram i konsertsalen, ovanför scenen. På scenen står en man och blickar upp mot orgeln.
