Schedule

16.00. Doors open. Welcome!

The bars are open and the mingling can begin. Take a seat and unwind for a while before the classical concert in the Great Hall.

18.00–19.00. Classical concert with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra

An emerging Finnish star conductor by the name of Kristian Sallinen leads the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra for this maximally charged hour in the Great Hall. Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 from 1888 flows forward, with no inhibitions – it is a raw depiction of sorrow, love and despair. After only a few performances in the 1880s, it was considered one of his most significant orchestral works, and this remains true today. The second movement contains a magnificently beautiful horn solo.

19.00–21.00. Post-concert mingle with chamber music

After the concert, meet the violinists Emirzeth Henríquez, Pernille Kristiansen and Helena Kollback Heuman, violist Manon Briau, and cellists Frida Lee Bromander and Paula Gustafsson Apola. Throughout the evening, they present short chamber music interludes featuring works by composers such as Germaine Tailleferre and Franz Schubert, moving between playful melodies and more contemplative sounds, music you can listen to attentively or simply let enhance the atmosphere in the foyer.

21.00. The bars close. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
