An exciting afternoon at Gothenburg Concert Hall as four finalists compete for first place in the Polstjärnepriset Nordic Edition. The competing soloists who perform with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra are 14–18 years of age.

Enjoy stories with golden frame as the Gothenburg Symphony perform a newly composed cello concerto by Mats Larsson Gothe. To conclude, we hear the romantic suite Scheherazade, in which each instrument brings the story to life.
The Phantom in the Organ and on Screen
Experience silent film with live music! David Briggs improvises on the large Concert Hall organ to the 1925 classic horror film, The Phantom of the Opera. Expect cold shivers and a deadly thirst for love.
Sibelius Symphony No. 2 with Sallinen

Majid Bekkas unites Moroccan tradition with the deeply emotional expression of the blues. Hear one of North Africa’s most luminous musical voices and master of the guembri – the warmly vibrating three-string instrument.
Mahler Symphony No. 5

American 20th century meets Russian late-Romanticism in a rich and emotional programme with the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. Hear Barber’s heartfelt Cello Concerto with Chinese cellist Li-Wei Qin, now in Sweden for the first time.

Hear soprano Camilla Tilling in Daniel Nelson’s award-winning Chaplin Songs, a musical take on the political satire The Great Dictator. The Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and conductor Andrew Manze also present Alfvén’s Symphony No. 3.
