Labyrinths of Time

A unique and festive occasion: the first performance of Victoria Borisova-Ollas second symphony, ”Labyrinths of Time”, in Gothenburg in September.

The composer Victoria Borisova-Ollas, born in Vladivostok, moved to Sweden in 1982. She has an international reputation and won the prestigious Christ Johnson Prize in 2011. The second symphony deals with the function of the human memory, like walking in a labyrinth where one encounters short parts of conversations, fragrants, colours and pictures. “Grand symphonic art with roots in the tradition, but using this in an original and personal way”, wrote critic Martin Nyström in Dagens Nyheter after the première.
